Who qualifies

Households at or below 150% FPL (most states); seniors are categorically prioritized in many states.

What you get

Help paying heating and cooling bills, repairing or replacing broken HVAC equipment, and emergency crisis intervention when utilities are about to be shut off.

Tips that matter

Apply early in the season — funds are first-come, first-served and run out. Most states open applications October/November for heating, May/June for cooling.
